Best Accessories For A Red Dress

52 week project

A couple of days ago I found this book "Anna Karenina " by Tolstoy . In fact it is a bit 'a brick! I started reading when I was 16, then I found it far too heavy and I set aside, the signs you see are just those reading ... and stop well before the half! Today I decided to try to read it ... maybe with 10 more years on his back I can to govern better and remember more easily read the complicated Russian names that swarm through the pages!

THE ELECTRIC CHURCH ETERNAL PEACE

go to the full
The novel is set in a dystopian classic scenario, a twenty-first century sees the world after Unification (mysterious sequence of events that brings the entire planet under one government) clearly divided between a privileged elite and the great mass of poor, outcasts and criminals. The security forces maintain order in the system: they are spaccateste, street cops easily corruptible, especially pigs, cruel federal agents who appear to have averted the only entertainment on the population. In rapid rise in this infernal world is the Electric Church, a cult born from the mind of a scientist, Dennis Squalor, which promises immortality to every man, turning it into a Monaco through the engagement of her brain in the body of a cyborg.
The protagonist of the novel, Avery Cates, belongs to the scum of New York, is a professional killer. Despite having less than thirty years, it is considered already an old man in that world where few arrive at middle age. But, as in classic script, is primarily a "bad from the good principles," conscious of the injustice of the system. After accidentally killing a security guard, hunted by the police, he finds himself in the midst of a much bigger deal than he could imagine, discovering the terrible truth behind the seemingly innocuous Electric Church.
classic scenario we said, enriched by a single, yet powerful, original idea that we did not anticipate to not spoil the surprise. The novel can be read in one breath, supported by a smooth and exciting plot, based on the figure of a character, Avery Cates, in which the reader plunges immediately. Of course, the background is a bit 'naive in his character Manichean (good or bad: there is no middle ground) and a number of questions does not even attempt to answer (what has led to the unification?), But aspects do not really essential to what he wants to be a "simple" science fiction adventure novel, borders on the thriller. So pleasant and recommended reading.

Imperialismus 2 Update Für Den Mac

go to the review Full

Unlike the War masterpiece Eternal Peace Eternal is set entirely on Earth and in the near future (the twenty-first century). The world is going through a multitude of small local wars and guerrilla wars fought between the alliance, namely the U.S. and allies, and rebels from the third world countries, the Ngum. The economy and society of advanced countries, primarily the U.S., has changed radically after the invention of nanoforge, machines capable of playing, from the elementary constituents, any object (be it food, jewelry, machinery, etc. ...). With this discovery, the state is able to guarantee the basic needs of the entire population.
The work is divided into two parts. In the first familiarizes the reader with the protagonist, Julian Class, a manipulator of soldierboy, the powerful remote-controlled robot: This section refers to the style, tone, narrative raw, direct and effective way of war and the contents of eternal war. The second part is centered around a global conspiracy hatched by a group of religious fanatics that, through a scientific experiment could lead to the end of the universe: Julian and his manage to avoid, of course, all this while a new future is for all humanity ...
as the beginning of the novel seems to promise a work of high level, so this second part disappoint dragging the reader into a plot, in some moments a bit too 'heavy and unnecessary articles, which combines thriller, but still leaving the idea of \u200b\u200ba discussion a bit' shallow, petty concepts of science and spirituality and ride some of the themes a bit 'new age enough abused, like the telepathic communion. Overall still a good read.

REVELATION of Alaistar Reynolds

The novel is set in the Twenty-sixth century, the human race has expanded across the galaxy, finding witnesses and numerous ruins of alien civilizations, but not entering the contact with any of it apart from the mysterious Mental Jugglers (mysterious entities that populate the oceans of many planets storing memories and thought patterns of everyone with whom they come in contact) and Cortiniani (the builders of the mysterious curtains, screens that distort the space time, it seems that Cortiniani created them to hide potentially too advanced technologies). Reynolds
travel cancellation superbright: the spaceships can only approach the speed of light, with the consequences that this entails. The current work is intertwined with the famous Fermi paradox (where are the aliens?) Painting at the end of the novel, a magnificent fresco on a cosmic scale. There are some classic elements posthuman (brain implants, cloning, artificial personalities) but not seen in the hyperinflation Posthuman typical of a certain kind of science fiction with Reynolds back to a more space opera charts, based on the narrative suspense, questions about cosmic emotion of discovering the mysteries of the universe around us.
The narrative proceeds, classically, in terms of three different characters who are reunited at the end making a final vibrant, perhaps too much. The main shortcoming of the work is in fact the concentration of the "discovery" of the "revelation" of what kept dark for almost the entire novel in the final few pages, not giving time and opportunity to the reader to assimilate fully the lessons learned. Despite the characterization of the characters leave a bit 'to be desired, reading is still recommended as the charm of the immortal themes, paradoxes, and the meaning of life and the universe, which deals with Reynolds.
