The novel is set in futuristic America which is about to begin the colonization of the solar system but whose population falls prey to mental illness . In a small electronics company are artificially given the two American political life two centuries ago, Lincoln and Stanton, who, paradoxically, seem to behave in more human to human who is for real. The center of gravity of the work oscillates between love sick, incestuous colors, the protagonist against the teenage daughter of his friend and Dickian the usual question about the nature of human existence, questioned the conduct of the androids. Overall this is a good book, full of suggestive pictures and songs, but for long stretches it almost seems to stop being science fiction, as is often the case with Dick, finally, the reader must grapple with a plot a bit 'dark in some passages ...
